Dear RSU #74 School Community,

After hearing the Governor's recent advisement on schools reopening in Maine, our RSU #74 School District Administrative Team is working on our own local school reopening plan for in-person instruction. Superintendent Tracy plan's to bring this proposal to the RSU #74 school board on August 5 for their approval.

In short, after reviewing all of the risk factors regionally, we fit within the lowest in Maine. Of course, we have already begun to prepare facilities and school buses for changes in procedures and practices, which are necessary to reopen.

Lastly, the safety of our community's children is on the forefront of all of our minds, so at this time, everyone can expect a plan that involves face coverings, social distancing, and lots of hand washing.

We will be in touch with another virtual community update (A Zoom Meeting with the Superintendent) as soon as we have something to share. At this time, please begin thinking and planning for a September 1st student start date.
