6-8 Civil Rights team meeting in the library today at 9:45.

Ms. Hollye's 3rd & 4th grade Anson Rec boys beat Madison 19-17 last night.

February Vacation is next week. Have a blast, rest, get rid of your colds and flu and come back on the 26th healthy!!

The After School Program will start back up on March 6th. This is for the 3rd,4th, & 5th graders. Your teachers have the permission slips. Please bring them to the office.

Star walkers of the week are : Pete Vicneire and T.J. Mihos. Please see Mrs. Miller for your prize.

K-5 Winter Olympics will happen on Friday 2/16. Cross your fingers for outside weather activities. At 1:30 we will be having our annual Staff vs Student Basketball game. Just before the game the Boys and Girls Pine Cone Tournament Champions will be paraded around the building to celebrate their victory.

Madison Jr. High School is currently offering wrestling to students in grades 5-8. If you are interested please see Mr. Sirois.

The 6th Annual Anson Firemans Association Embden pond Ice Fishing Derby will take place this year 2/24 on Embden Lake. The weigh station will be at the boat landing from 9-2 and the Community Center from 3-6. Prizes will be awarded for largest Salmon, Brook Trout and Togue. 1st Prize is $150 2nd - $100 and 3rd $50

Order your yearbooks now. These are on sale until the end of March. Your homeroom teachers have the forms and we also have some in the office.

Staff, I will need your newsletter information for March this Friday. I made an error on the email and said March 16, but meant this Friday Feb. 16th. Due to vacation, I will need all information by Friday this week. Thank you.

If you were scheduled by Jean Butler to have a peer observation this year, the form must be signed and submitted to her by Friday, February 16th.

The March Madness Papers are due to Mr. Carey no later than Friday.

Outside the office we have 6-8 spring sports sign ups. Baseball, Softball and Track. For all athletes who have not played a sport yet this year, you must have a current physical.

Healthy Family Night ~ Friday, February 23rd from 5-7 at the Skowhegan Community Center. Bring the entire family and join the Redington Fairview Hospital and Somerset Public Health for an interactive night of food tasting, physical activity and fun. This is a free event, visit a table and win a gift card to Hannaford or the Skowhegan Farmers market. Please stop in the office to pick up a flier.

Students: The Portland Sea Dogs are having a Teacher Appreciation Night at the Hadlock Field in Portland on Friday, April 27th. Please stop in the office and nominate a teacher. We will be sending 5 teachers from our school whom you feel have gone above and beyond the call of duty this year. They should be nominated based upon their level of commitment to teaching and to you the students.

Crock Pot Friday's for staff will be each Pay Day (Friday) starting today. $2.00 for Salad and Water, or $4.00 for the entire meal. This will run until March. Enjoy and support the 6-8 PTO.
